The installation of our CET CryoSpa has been an excellent addition to our facilities at Londonderry Park Pavilion, which, as you know is an outdoor sports facility catering for a range of sports including football, hockey, cross country running cricket and Lawn bowls.
We operate with various booking/payment methods, including single/ double/ triple users, team bookings, bundle deals etc. We also use the CryoSpa facility as an add on for the fitness memberships in our local leisure centres and as a facility for our gold card users (elite sports persons).
The CryoSpa has been very popular with a range of our customers, particularly with our resident football teams who have been using utilising the facility for team sessions to aid recovery in the preseason period when they are doing a lot of fitness training. One benefit that we have noted is the availability of the spa on site for players who sustain injuries during competitive matches, the ability for an injured player to access the CryoSpa immediately upon sustaining the injury appears to aid recovery and reduce severity of the injury effectively.
Runners from the local running clubs use the facility to aide recovery after hard training sessions and we have run some promotions in line with ½ marathon events.
We have also had some usage from non members who have been advised to visit the facility by local physiotherapists etc. for a range of issues.
We have not had as large a number of customers as I would have imagined using for Wellness/mental health, but I believe that this is down to the specificity of our site and also the large sea swimming community in the local area who are already getting the benefits of CWI.
Pay back period for us was circa 2 years but we, as with everyone else, were affected by the pandemic.
As we have spoken about before, I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits of CWI, and the CET CryoSpa delivers these effectively. We have little maintenance issues (1 replacement fan in the chiller unit required) and the running of the spa unit have been very cost effective.
