“For the past two weeks, the squad athletes of HHG Kaiserslautern have been enjoying the CryoSpa ice bath as a new option for regeneration, although it may require a little persuasion.
Cold applications are increasingly being used in competitive sport to speed up recovery after intensive training sessions or competitions.
The ability to simultaneously perform cold therapy and therapeutic exercises with and without exertion is an enormous advantage over ice packs or compresses. This advantage is now also used to treat sports injuries.
The CET CryoSpa ice bath has an optimum combination of water turbulence, thermostatically controlled temperature (from 1°C to 14°C), salt content and water pressure (due to the depth of the water) with the following aspects:
- Shorter recovery time after physical exertion
- Faster healing of soft tissue injuries
- Reduction of fatigue for injury prevention
- Treatment of muscle and joint pain, strains and inflammation
- Promotes recovery of the nervous and cardiovascular systems”

“Attached you’ll find a picture of Timo Bichler in the ice bath.
He won the European Championship bronze medal in the team sprint (elite) in Glasgow 2018 and was Junior Vice World Champion in 2017. He is a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Tokyo Team.
The ice bath is very popular. It’s easy to change the water and to look after it. The CryoSpa ice bath was praised in the DOSB report as a structural improvement for our national sports base.”
